HOW TO PREPARE FOR NYFW 2017

New York Fashion Week is back lovelies,  hence this post will show you how to prepare for NYFW 2017. In order to make sure you are ready for one of the biggest fashion events of the year, there are a few things you might want to check off your list if you are heading to the big Apple.

I have listed 5 things to ensure you are ready for a week of fashion and fun.

1.Packing the right items.

Depending on how many days you will be in the city, you must pack wisely. It is easy  to want to pack everything and some. Before you end up traveling with 4 suitcases, and an extra $200 in luggage fees, stop and plan. Prior to packing, you should ask yourself WHAT ARE THE TRENDS?

SHOP THESE COOL TRENDS BELOW

Once you determine the hottest fall trends that work for you, then you can start planning your outfit   direction, then shop for items. Before you start shopping, list the events you will be attending and divide them into day categories and night categories. Buy outfits that will help you achieve looks for exploring the city, attending the shows, or whatever fun events you have in store.  In order to be cost effective, make sure you utilize what is already in your closet by pairing the old with the new. Regardless of how tempting it might be, do not pack more than 2 outfits per day. This also means that you don’t pack more than 2 pairs of shoes per day. By doing this you will not only eliminate extra luggage, but the headache that comes with overpacking.

2. Plan to see a runway show or 2

It’s fashion week so you definitely want to see at least one runway show. If you are a blogger request media credentials from     https://nyfwregistration.launchmetrics.com/  . You can use apps like GPS RADAR to get into shows. If you are not interested in getting into the shows and still want to be around all the excitement go to http://nyfw.com/ to find out when and where all the major shows will occur.

3. Get ready to take amazing photos

Get ready to take some of the best photos ever! If you want to be photographed by all the fashion paparazzi or you want to just get amazing photos for your blog or personal use, this event is definitely the best time to do so. The tall buildings that populate the city of New York create the perfect light diffusor, hence you are sure to get a great shot almost every time. I have listed a few cool places you can take some amazing photos to share with your friends, family, and followers

Places to shoot for fashion post:

Times Square

Brooklyn Bridge

Nomo Soho

Central Park Bow Bridge

The Steps of the New York Public Library

The Flatiron Building

The Met

  4. Be prepared to share your experience

In the mist of all the chaos that surrounds NYFW, it is easy to forget to share your experience with all the people who cannot make it out. In order to ensure you don’t miss a snap, or instagramstory worth moment. Don’t take more than 3 stories per event. You also want to make sure that you save the video first, then post. Don’t wait too long, or you might just forget and miss the moment. Lastly know your hashtags in advance. By having your hashtags listed in advance your content will be better organized, and it will help you save time.

5. Create a schedule for everything

In order to ensure that you stay in New York goes smoothly, you must plan ahead by creating a schedule for your week. You can create multiple schedules or you can opt for one more effective schedule like the one I created here. By creating a spreadsheet of your events, shows, and outfits, you will be map our your day accordingly and ensure that you pick the right look for each day’s events. A schedule will also help prevent double booking of events.
