During my recent visit to Toronto, Canada I had a chance to meet up with a couple of my friends for brunch.
It’s one thing to have good friends, but having good friends that love fashion, just as much as you, takes that friendship to a whole other level.
Our meet ups are more like a fashion event. We come together, adorned in our favorite pieces of the season, and chat about what’s hot, what’s not, and what we are excited to see next, in fashion.
I showed up for our brunch wearing a trend I never thought I’d like. When I first saw Kim K wear bike shorts, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. I like trying new things and finding new ways showcase my personal style. So, I gave it a try and paired my cycling shorts with a few of my favorite things. I put my own spin on the bike short trend, and now I am hooked!
The biker short trend, yes please!
A blazer was a great 1st choice. It turned the athletic bike short into something chic and feminine. I added a designer leather belt for a more tailored look. I really liked this combo.
Some people believe a great shoe really makes an outfit. I tend to agree. Pairing this look with a classic black and white mule really elevated this look. The bow detail softened things up a bit. It was the perfect contrast to the blazer.
I carried a black, leather, oversized structured handbag to finish off this look. It was another classic addition to a trend I am now in love with.
This trend reminded me of why I love fashion so much. It’s all about self-expression. You can find a way to fall in love with just about any trend once you style it in a way that’s all your own.
I’m happy with what I came up with and my friends agree.
How do you feel about the bike short trend? Have you tried it?
