One of the events I look forward to every year is New York fashion week. New York Fashion week is the official kick-off of fashion month. During fashion week, all the major trends of the season hit the streets of New York. The fashion, the people, and the events all make this experience amazing. I love sharing my outfits and experiences with you guys and this year is no exception. I tend to create outfits that focus on all the major trends for the upcoming season, so stay tuned as I will be creating blog post that highlight trends you absolutely need to try, and how to make them work for your wardrobe. first up is the corduroy suit.
How to make a women’s corduroy suit modern.
Corduroys are one of those trends that I personally love. I don’t have a lot of pieces because the fabric is generally a little heavy for the Atlanta climate, and the silhouettes have been a little outdated in the past. However this year more and more retailers are stocking their shelfs with modern, light-weight, updated silhouettes of the trend. One of my personal favorite pieces in corduroys is from H&M. This suit is super affordable, fits great, and is extremely comfortable. The one thing about fashion week that I actually do not like is all the running around. Hence finding pieces that are comfortable and stylish our key. The style of the jacket is slightly oversized, hence I decided to add a feminine appeal by pairing it with a bar top under the jacket. The pants fit like a glove and feature a stylish high waisted silhouette.
To really elevate the look I decided to accessorize the outfit with trends like the dad sneakers, beret hats, and layering multiple necklaces. All paired together create the perfect street style outfit of the day. Another cool benefit to this suit is that you can wear the pieces as separates. That Jacket will look perfect with jeans or a pair of black pants. The crop pants will pair perfectly with a silk blouse. If this look is to casual for your style, you can lose the sneakers, for a great pair of kitten-heel pumps, and a silk cami instead of the crop top.
