FASHION AND STYLE: DRESSED TO SEE THE HORSES.

This past weekend my husband and I with two other couples decided to hit the road and go to the Atlanta Steeplechase. The weather was perfect for a day outside, filled with horses, games, food and of course fashion. The difference between Steeplechase and an event like say the Kentucky Derby is that the horses jump, in my opinion making it a little more interesting hence my outfit had to be a little more interesting.. I knew most people would be in floral dresses and big hats so I decide to channel something different. I wanted to be comfortable, appropriate and of course stylish for the event so I decided to opt for more of a preppy/sexy look. Instead of a cotton shirt I threw on a silk shirt (I love silk), and an amazing blazer is key for any preppy horse race look. Also because this was an outside event I went with white (it reflects the sun, light colors are a better choice then dark colors). Linen is a great fabric for an outside event because it helps keep cool and the perfect piece to complement my blazer and shirt were a pair of cool shorts. Beige and Linen sandals tie in perfectly with the linen blazer. I also put on a stylish white and beige fedora and white and gold aviator sunglasses to give me pop. Heavy jewelry and sparkly broaches are the finishing touches completing my very pretty/sexy look to see the horses.
