New Year means new beginnings, and
on the first day of the year, I spent some quality time with my friends and family
at a beautiful winery where we had brunch and did a little wine tasting.
I knew I wanted to be stylish and comfortable since I would be handling the
kids, so for the first outfit post of 2014 I went totally casual-chic in all
black, with a pop of fuchsia, and black and white.
This look is a
combination of all the trends appropriate this season, so if you are missing
any of these basics pieces in your closet, run to the store or online and
shop. Because it is the first day of the month/year, I wanted to add
a little sparkle, and I did that with my silk and foil threading knit top. It
is clean and classic and you have to look up close to see the details of the
threading. Classic pair of black crop jeans are comfortable, sturdy for walking
around and for handling kids, while still being very stylish. Hats are
also in style, and give this look character.
My jacket also know as a Bomber,
Baseball, Varsity jacket, (whichever you want to call it), is
totally in style, and the Leather/raised fabric (jacquard) combination
adds a style flare. I used minimal jewelry, a black and white skull
scarf, and my adored fuchsia Valentino cross-body bag to complete my very
simple but stylish look for tasting great food and amazing wine.
