Certain colors are usually associated with seasons; for instance yellow with summer and black with winter.  Navy is usually linked to fall/winter, however with the help of neutrals and other summer accessories, it is easy to make this dark color a summertime  favorite. In this look, I pair my navy shorts with a floral sweater. The sweater features a variety of colors including navy, making it easy to pair the top with the shorts. The top also features a good amount  of ivory with a hint of gold, making it warm and color appropriate for the season. Gold gladiator sandals also pick off the hues in this look and add interest. To complete the look I added a neutral colored cross-body bag and fedora. Details make and direct an outfit;  and in this look the details dictate that this  is the perfect casual cool navy summer look.
