14 days ago, I embarked on the Pantene Gold Series 14 Day challenge to see how my hair would react to exclusively using these products for the entire period. When I started the challenge, I wasn’t totally sure how my hair would react to using the Pantene Gold Series Shampoo, Conditioner and Pudding. I have used these products in the past, however I accompanied them with other products, hence I was anxious to see what would become of my hair.

Finding the right products for my hair has always been a bit of a challenge. My hair is fine and has the tendency to get really dry. I also find certain products tend to weigh my hair down, hence finding a product that adds just the right amount of moisture without weighing it down has always been a challenge. When the seasons change, so does my hair, and not for the better. During the cold weather, I experience a lot more breakage and split ends. I experience dry hair a lot faster, hence my need for products that would tackle my hair issues. My hope going into the challenge was to see less breakage and more shine. I am happy to inform you that the Pantene Gold Series Collection did not disappoint.

My Pantene Gold Series 14 days in a nutshell

Day one of the challenge

After having my hair in braids for a full two weeks, I knew my hair would have severe breakage, and I was right. On taking out the braids, I noticed the texture of my hair was extremely dry and brittle. Getting the knots out was a bit of a hassle. On washing my hair with Pantene Gold Series Shampoo, I could feel a slight change in the texture. It didn’t feel as dry. Because my hair was so badly tangled, I had to leave the conditioner in my hair a little longer to help detangle my hair.

Day seven of the challenge

On day seven, I noticed a significantly less amount of breakage, I would say more than 50% less. After having a head full of knots, it was a relief to only have one tangle in my hair. Less tangles meant I didn’t have to use as much conditioner as I did on the first wash. After the shampoo and conditioner, I used the Pantene Gold Series Pudding to style my hair into my signature bun. My curl pattern was more defined, and I found my hair had a noticeable shine.

Day fourteen of the challenge

On day 14, washing and conditioning my hair was a breeze. Breakage was literally about 90% less than day one. I also found that I didn’t have to leave my conditioner in for more than 2 minutes. The wash and condition took almost half the time from day one. My hair felt amazing, and had the perfect shine. Because I was totally feeling my hair progress, I decided to do something different with my hair and straighten it. I have to admit I was a little worried with straightening my hair and the potential damage it could cause. That is why I added minimal heat to prevent any heat damage. Even with the heat, I notice the shine had returned to my hair. Not only did my hair have this remarkable shine, it also had a good amount of moisture, and the texture was great.

So, there you have it guys, my 14 days of exclusively using Pantene Gold Series products. I really love how my hair feels right now and intend to have more great hair days with the help of these phenomenal products curated for women of color. Regardless of if I’m wearing my hair in my signature bun, an afro, or under a wig, it is very important to me that my hair feels and looks good at all times. I am so happy I took this challenge and I invite you to take it too. If you are looking for products that will revamp your hair and deliver more great hair days, this product is for you.
