self care during the holidays with Risata

T

There is no denying the holidays are busy. It seems our to do list doubles this time of year from wrapping up end of the year commitments with work to hosting or attending holiday events, shopping for the perfect gifts, wrapping presents and the list goes on. It seems when we cross off one item from the list, another item is added on. Although the holidays are busy and we can easily get overwhelmed, we can’t neglect self care. If there is a time where self care is more important it’s the holidays and trust me, pouring from an empty cup on Thanksgiving or Christmas is not fun. How can you quickly and easily incorporate self care into your holiday season and still have time to address your to do list? I’ve partnered with my friends at Risata to celebrate the holiday season, and to show the importance of self care this hectic season.

Self care via reading

There is no better combination than a good book and a glass of wine. Between, work, family and friends, I feel like I am always on the go. Over the holiday season, life gets even more hectic, hence after a hectic day, I love to get lost in a good book accompanied by a good glass of Moscato d’Asti . I find a glass of Moscato d’Asti truly relaxes me, especially during this time of year when it feels like life is moving way too fast. One of my personal goals this holiday season is to take the time to read more and enjoy the moments to myself.

Self care via meditation & yoga

Am I the only one who finds it hard to shut everything out? I feel like once I wake up, my mind is all over the place. The stress of work, and getting everything ready for the holidays can be extremely overwhelming. The impact of stress during the holidays can negatively affect our mind, body and soul. To ensure I take care of both my mental, and physical state during the holiday, I have incorporated yoga and meditation into my weekly routine. Yoga and meditation have been a major help in terms of tuning everything out, and taking a mental break. The two not only calm my anxiety,  but they allow for much needed personal time. Both these practices also help with my focus, hence I have more productive days when I consistently meditate.  Once my mind is cleared from yoga and meditation, I love enjoying the Risata’s Red Moscato. It’s the perfect way to end the day.
