Why linen is the fabric of choice this summer season

It’s Memorial Day weekend, and that means that the summer fashion season has officially begun. What better way to start the unofficial start of summer than with a head-to-toe linen outfit. Linen is the fabric of choice this season because it’s literally like magic. It removes moisture from the body, then yields it. The fabric is stiff, hence it does not cling to the body like other fabrics, making it comfortable. The material is also light-weight and cool to the touch, hence it ideal for hot summer days. In addition to all of the above, the fabric is easy to care for. Linen in general is machine-washable, however linens that are blended with other fabrics, or are dyed require hand-washing or dry cleaning. The key to wearing head-to-toe linen is playing around with color. When wearing head-to-toe linen, be mindful of the colors you select. Pairing colors in the same color family create a seamless flow from one piece to the other. Monochromatic linen outfits in neutral colors work because they are effortless-chic. You don’t necessarily have to wear this fabric in neutrals, however the fabric looks best in more subdued hues.
