I decided to switch things up this NYFW
Looking back at this year’s New York Fashion week, I decided to take on the week through a different set of lenses and the results were incredibly impactful to me. I was able to take a step back from the hustle of fashion week which typically involves going from one runway show to the next, and in the evenings from one party to the next, with limited downtime. I decided to switch things up and tackle the week with a different perspective. With the exception of my hotel room, I didn’t go to New York with the plan of trying something new, however I am so happy and grateful I made this trip and did things a little different.

The perfect view!
Instead of staying in Soho at 11 Howard, as I have always done, I wanted to see what more the state had to offer and decided on the Williamsburg Hotel in Brooklyn. If you’ve never been to Brooklyn or are planning a trip in the near future, I highly recommend this hotel. From the beautiful decor in the lobby, the East coast vibe to our incredibly gorgeous room with city views, all I can say is this hotel did not disappoint. Not only was our room amazing and instagram worthy, the service was impeccable.
Time to reconnect

The first Meet up With Moni was a hit!
I ended my NYFW with my first Meet Up With Moni and what an amazing event to connect with four of my followers over an intimate brunch, answering questions, giving tips, empowering each other, sharing my story of how I overcame obstacles to be successful and truly connecting on a personal level with each of them is something I have always wanted to do. My friend Shannae from Toronto Shay was a guest at the event. Finding a community in this industry has been nothing short of valuable to me and it was a blessing to extend that sense of community to my wonderful followers at brunch.
Details on the next Meet Up With Moni coming soon!

THE NUMBER ONE FASHION TREND THIS NYFW

Of course I couldn’t create a NYFW recap without sharing the #1 fashion trend. So, I paid close attention to what everyone was wearing at the 3 events I did attend, combed through everyone’s feed on social, and the number one fashion trend was the suit. Everyone wore a suit at least one day of fashion week making it the trend to try. I loved seeing everyone’s take on a popular trend.
Stay tuned to my post “Suit Yourself,” which shows you suits at all price-points, which ones to wear, how to style a suit, and how to wear your suits as separates. Basically everything you need to know about suiting to nail it this new season.
