Inspired by Men’s wear
Plaid is a major trend right now that is showcased in a variety of silhouettes. The oversized plaid jacket is one of my favorites styles to feature the fabric. Pair your plaid jacket with the right colors
To make the trend standout you have to pair it with pieces that compliment the silhouette, and colors located in the fabric. In today’s look, I used the fine white lines of the tartan twill cloth to introduce my white shirt and booties to the outfit. The white pops against the grey background of the jacket, creating a crisp look. Blue lines also featured in the plaid jacket made it easy to pair the look with a blue bag.
The right shape
To get the shape right I paired the jacket over a pair of skinny jeans. The jeans do a great job of elongating the body. Lastly I introduced a belt to the look to make the waist narrow, and to add a feminine touch. Other accessories like my hat and oversized sunglasses add a cool factor, making this the perfect standout outfit of the day.
