The work of a mom never ends
As women we wear multiple hats. We are the carpool mom, the room mom, stay at home mom, career women, and many other roles. Simply we do it all and rightfully claim the title of superwoman. I’m always asked, how do I put together stylish mom outfits while tackling the many task that come with being a mama on the go? How do you make your outfit work all day when you have multiple events in one day such as soccer game, a birthday party, and doctor’s appointments? What are some advice on selecting the right outfit to accomplish a busy day?
My advice is simple, putting together stylish mom outfits is all about picking the right pieces. I live for dressing up, but I also believe in dressing for the occasion. Dressing for soccer and gymnastics is no different to me than dressing up for NYFW. For fashion week, I select pieces that suit the shows, and events I attend. This same rule applies for my casual events. Dressing for the right occasion starts with selecting pieces that will work for the outing. I love to be appropriate without surrendering my personal sense of style, hence creating stylish mom outfits mean selecting pieces that are casual, comfortable and fashionable. Using these simple standards to put together outfits mean my looks will always be a win.
Being an active mom on the go doesn’t mean you have to forgo style
To show you how easy it is to create stylish, comfortable looks on the go, I partnered with Talbots x O Magazine. For the fourth consecutive year, Talbots collaborated with O, The Oprah Magazine’s creative director, Adam Glassman, to design a capsule collection of five ultra-comfortable be-good-to-yourself pieces inspired by their T by Talbots line. I picked 4 pieces from this collection to create two looks that would work for my hectic weekend schedule. This collection is stylish, comfortable, and it truly makes you feel great while you tackle the busy life of a mom. In addition, thru March 31st, 30% of the net proceeds from this collection directly benefit Dress for Success®, an international not-for-profit organization that provides women with the tools they need to achieve economic independence.
Putting together stylish mom outfits
ON ME: stripe tee // white and black jacket // black with stripe detail ankle pants // white sneakers
For my soccer look, I went with a classic black and white theme. I selected the T by Talbots Tee, Ankle Pants, and Jacket because my son’s soccer uniform is black and white. What can I say, I was inspired by his uniform and love supporting him even with my attire. These pieces create a clean and casual-chic vibe. Although casual, these items are classic and always on trend. The pieces are perfect for cheering at the game and going to the next activity.

I take my daughter to gymnastics on Sundays and tend to be slightly more dressed up than soccer. Because I am not on the field, I tend to run errands right after practice. I selected pieces that were classic and comfortable. The sweater featured is the fourth item from the Talbots x O Magazine collection. I picked the sweater because it is timeless, light-weight and a great transition piece. The neutral heather grey color of the sweater is beautiful and versatile. Because grey is a complimentary color, it is easy to pair with a variety of pieces. To give the look a spring/summer vibe, I introduced light blue loafers, a blue quilted bucket bag, and a silk scarf featuring light blue details.
