Making a velvet midi dress street-chic
Velvet is one of my favorite holiday fabrics. This woven cloth of silk, cotton or nylon is beautiful, and soft to the touch. The material tends to lean in a more formal direction, however you can make it informal by simply pairing it with more casual pieces. For today’s outfit of the day I paired this fabulous long sleeve midi dress with a patch-work utility jacket. The military style of the jacket makes the look more relaxed by introducing a casual element to the outfit. Because the jacket is a strong statement piece, I decided to introduced more classic pieces to the outfit. The introduction of these items make the look chic.
